About Our Company
Our History
In December 2003, Daniel Mason established Mason Engineering & Construction in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Since that time we have developed a company that is committed to each other, to our goals, and to our vision. As a business, we have specialized in water and wastewater construction, working mostly with municipalities, private firms, and home developers. New bonds and relationships are formed with each new project that we undertake. As a family, we look for ways to create a better future for our company and the community that we live in.
Thanks to our personable staff and the strong partnerships we establish with our clients, MEC has become a premier contractor in wastewater design and construction.
Our Team
We value the philosophy that "people are a company's most important assets." As such, when MEC is assigned to a project, our team members stay committed to achieving the client's goals and strive to foster trust with the client. Our industry experience exceeds 100 years of cumulative knowledge in the water and wastewater field.

Dan "The Man" Mason is a civil engineering graduate of Michigan Technological University and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Indiana. He has worked in the engineering and construction industry for over 25 years with the majority of the time specifically in the water and wastewater field. Dan worked his way up through the ranks being trained in both field and office management until he became Sr. V.P. Director of Operations for a wastewater general contractor. He held this position for eight years until starting his own company.
Starting a company requires the founder to wear many hats. Filling the roles of President, CFO, Estimator, and Project Manager, comes natural to him. This ensures a high standard of performance. Dan's goal as President is to structure and develop the company such that the quality of performance, standards, and values by which the company was founded are not compromised. Simply put, his job is to build a team to replace himself.

Cheryl L. Mason

Mrs. Mason is also a civil engineering graduate of Michigan Technological University with an environmental option. Cheryl's father was an engineer in the water and wastewater field, so she has been affiliated with this industry her whole life. Sacrificing her professional career to raise a family, she has worked part time throughout the years assisting at Dan's work in the estimating and project management departments. Working side by side with Dan is nothing new. Cheryl assists with the phones and office communication.

Brian Panzer, Service Manager

Mr. Panzer has over 25 years of broad experience in wastewater pollution control, water filtration, and solid waste management and over 15 years of field experience. Here at MEC Brian is the Project Manager and head of our Service Work department. Being licensed to operate wastewater treatment plants gives him valuable insight in the estimating, planning, and execution for those specialized projects.

April Beber, Office Administrator

Mrs. Beber is referred to as the "office savior." Her roles include contract administration, Payroll/Union/Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, solicitation and preparation of bids, keeping communication between office and field, as well as many other clerical duties. She has worked over nine years in the construction industry and is a member of the Fort Wayne Chapter #59: National Association of Women in Construction.
